The Blacksmith Shop Restaurant is an historic time tested local eatery having served Rockport and it's many visitors since 1927. Only a horseshoe toss from the famous art galleries of Bearskin Neck, the Blacksmith Shop is nestled on the edge of the South Basin overlooking picturesque Rockport Harbor.

Rockport, Massachusetts, steeped in history, was settled in 1840 and is most famous for its high grade granite quarries, art Rockport's Motif #1galleries, the lobster fleet and most of all, the most photographed and painted structure in the world, Motif #1 (left) as seen from our dining room. The tiny ancient fish shacks of Bearskin Neck now offer crafts of hand-smithed jewelry, imports from distant countries and fine art of local seascapes and of the unusual character that the area beholds. The rugged Atlantic coastline is complimented by its quaint, casual nature of soft summer breezes, serene harbor and laid back atmosphere.
